There are a few ways of researching your target market. If you know the type of person you sell to you can find out how many of them are out there, where they are when thy buy and a lot more. If you want to know who to sell to, then you can research audience sizes, interests and location.
Google. Adwords is the tool for building campaigns, but is is also incredibly powerful as a research tool. You are selling Acme Widgets. How many searches are there for Widgets in Ireland or Scotland, or break it down to Glasgow and Edinburgh. What are people searching for to find your products, and when?
Analytics tells us what pages people like, what messages convert and a lot more besides.
Facebook. Your audience is more likely to be over 35, interested in walking and weekends away. Are there enough of them to target? What other things might they be interested in, what motivates them?
Insights will give us more information about our Facebook audience once the campaign is live. Gender, age, location, time of day.
SEM Rush. Navatalk subscribes to a number of tools and this is one of them. It tells us how your website is performing, but we can also research your competitors. What are they doing online? Are you better or worse?
